my intervention is a campaign

I created this image in photoshop from one of my drifting photographs. I got really excited about how alike this image is to the top picture of the Elephant and Castle badge. After i played around with this i decided i wanted to take a very abstract approach to what i was doing, simply due to how my image looks like a abstrct version of the actual above badge.

and so it begins...

i found this badge of elephant and castle in this site

"I am the elephant and I have a castle for a burden / And never do I kneel down nor do I lose my true place."

If i want to do a campaign for my intervention i need to think of the main aspects of one and how i can benefit from them and use them to my best ability. So i have come up with badges and flyers!

So when searching in my research i found the above image of an E+C badge and the quote below explains the representation of this listed building and landmark. It is quite clear that the statue is a huge part of the area and a main focal point for onlookers..so i've decided to find out why he designers chose such a name for the area..

"The Elephant & Castle was once considered the "Piccadilly Circus of South London", but these days it is a centre of student life, with London South Bank University and the London College of Communication (formerly London College of Printing) having campuses nearby. LCP has occasional exhibitions at the Eckersley Gallery. As a consequence the Elephant benefits from a Blackwell's bookshop in London Road and the excellent Tlön Books secondhand shop in the shopping centre."
